Origin/development

Origin and development of SV Krechting 1959 eV

On Sunday, January 4th, 1959, the founding meeting opened in the Sack restaurant. The club was founded under the name “DJK Spielvereinigung Krechting”.

Play operations began at Brügger Busch in 1960 after a long search for a site. The club enjoyed great growth in its first few years. And so from 1970 onwards the usual sports grounds were no longer sufficient, so a new location had to be looked for.

The new area at the end of Finkestrasse with a new cinder square was finally inaugurated on May 8, 1975. On March 25, 1983, construction of a changing room and club room began. This was completed around six months later.

Between 1983 and 1990 the number of members increased so much that the sports facility had to be expanded.

In 1995 the current grass field was (finally) built. At the same time, consideration was also given to expanding the changing rooms and club rooms into a clubhouse. After a long period of intensive planning, the renovation began on October 13th, 1998. The new clubhouse was completed in just under 1 1/2 years, on April 9th, 2000.

Since 2000, renovations and maintenance work have been carried out around the square on Finkestrasse, mostly with the active help of our own members. Two additional training areas and a beach volleyball field were created. The grass field was given a drainage system and a sprinkler system.

A multi-purpose room was created on the upper floor of the clubhouse, which is now very popular with the SVK's popular sports department.

As early as 2015, initial considerations were given to converting the 1975 clay pitch into a state-of-the-art artificial turf pitch. After five long years of planning, the artificial turf pitch was inaugurated on August 8, 2020 after a construction period of almost three months.
